On this unique combo tour you'll experience the scenic northwest corner of Australia by land and water. We’ll start with a personalised guided walk amongst ancient honeycomb domes, spiral palms and Aboriginal rock art in Keep River National Park, followed by a 2-hour small group boat cruise on Lake Argyle for some wildlife and croc spotting and a swim if you choose.
Pick-up from your accommodation or meeting point before tour commences.
7:00am: After leaving Kununurra we take a short detour off-road into the eastern side of Mirima National Park to a lookout with views to the Sleeping Budda and over Mirriuwung-Gajerrong country. We then travel east past the Matheson Ridge and head into Keep River National Park just over the WA/NT border.
8:00am: The Cockatoo Lagoon Ranger Station is perfect for birdwatching and getting information about the local flora, fauna and cultural sites. We’ll then head off to explore some of the many sites such as Ginger’s Hill, Goorrandandalng walk and/or the Jenemoom walk with a morning tea break along the way.
11:30am: Leaving the National Park we’ll drive over to Lake Argyle with a short stop at a lookout accessible by 4WD only for a unique perspective of the north end of the Lake. At the Argyle Village you can grab a bite for lunch and check out the facilities including their signature ‘Infinity Pool’.
1:00pm: We’ll drop you off for your 2-hour cruise with ‘the original and the best’ Lake Argyle Cruises where you’ll experience the Lake and its wildlife in a small group with informative and expert commentary.
3:00pm: Pickup from your cruise and then pop into the historic Durack Homestead museum which in the early 1970’s, was dismantled and relocated from its original location. On leaving Argyle, we’ll take a short side trip beside the Spillway creek.
5:00pm: Drop off at your accommodation or meeting point.
